Our Services

Public Sector Digital Transformation Consultancy

Services that reach live, not just roadmaps.

Digital transformation consultancy for UK government and the wider public sector: we help organisations replace legacy systems and rebuild services around users and data, then deliver them with multidisciplinary, security-cleared teams from discovery to live.

Public sector digital transformation usually stalls for familiar reasons: legacy systems that absorb the budget, data nobody trusts, a shortage of digital, data and technology skills, and programmes framed around buying a technology rather than improving a service. Our approach joins up three things most transformations keep apart: the delivery team, the data the service depends on, and the security it has to meet. We structure delivery around the discovery, alpha, beta and live phases described in the GOV.UK Service Manual, deploy multidisciplinary squads that can own an outcome, and build the capability of your own people as we go, so the service can be run and improved after we leave.

Key Capabilities

  • Discovery grounded in user and operational needs
  • Delivery through discovery, alpha, beta and live
  • Multidisciplinary agile squads: delivery, product, analysis, engineering and data
  • Software development and DevOps on live services
  • Legacy system replacement and modernisation
  • Integration, APIs and master data across systems
  • Cloud platforms on Azure, AWS and Google Cloud
  • Knowledge transfer and capability building for civil servants

Who We Work With

Our digital delivery sits inside central government programmes. For the Home Office we provide DevOps, front-end and back-end development on the Vehicles product within LEDS, the Law Enforcement Data Service replacing the Police National Computer. For DWP we replaced an outdated job centre facilities management system with a modern digital platform. For the UK IPO we led the data mobilisation phase of the five-year ONE IPO transformation. For the Infected Blood Compensation Authority we mobilised an SC cleared squad in nine days, co-delivering with CGI.

Our Approach

How we work.

01

Discover

We establish what the service needs to achieve, for whom, and what stands in the way: users, policy, legacy systems, data and constraints.

02

Alpha

We test the riskiest assumptions with prototypes and technical spikes, so the organisation commits to a design that has been tried rather than imagined.

03

Beta

We build the service in increments with real users, integrating with the systems and data it depends on and meeting security requirements as we go.

04

Live

We support the move to live service, then hand over running and continuous improvement to your teams with the knowledge to own it.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions.

What is digital transformation in the public sector?

It is the redesign of public services, and the way government works, around users, data and modern technology, rather than putting existing paper processes online. In practice it means replacing legacy systems that are expensive to run and hard to change, making data usable across organisational boundaries, and building services iteratively with the people who use them, so that they are simpler, cheaper to operate and easier to improve.

What does a digital transformation consultancy do?

It helps an organisation decide what to change and then delivers the change. That spans discovery, the case for replacing legacy systems, and multidisciplinary delivery teams covering delivery management, product, business analysis, engineering and data. A good consultancy also builds the capability of your own staff, so that the service can be run and improved after the programme ends.

Why do public sector digital transformation programmes stall?

Most stall on the same few things: legacy technology that consumes the budget, data of unknown quality, gaps in digital, data and technology skills, and programmes framed around buying a technology rather than improving a service. Working in short phases that test the riskiest assumptions first, and fixing the data early, avoids most of them.

Can you work alongside our existing teams and suppliers?

Yes. We work directly with departments and agencies, and as a specialist partner inside larger delivery teams. For the Infected Blood Compensation Authority we co-delivered with CGI under a flexible statement of work, and for the Home Office we provide development and DevOps on the Vehicles product within the LEDS programme.

How quickly can you mobilise a team?

For SC cleared professionals we can typically present a shortlist within 48 to 72 hours and mobilise within five to ten working days of agreement. For the Infected Blood Compensation Authority we mobilised an SC cleared squad in nine days.

What security clearances do your teams hold?

Our professionals hold clearances including Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV), so we can deliver on sensitive government services and infrastructure.
