Infected Blood Compensation Authority: Secure Cloud-Native Data Platform
Built a secure cloud-native Azure data platform for the newly established IBCA in just nine days, unifying 100% of case data and delivering near real-time analytics for ministerial reporting within three months.
The Challenge
Zero existing technology estate — everything had to be built green field. Highly sensitive medical, legal and financial data demanding SC cleared team handling and UK GDPR compliance. Urgent ministerial timetable for live registers and analytics required inside three months, with architecture needing to scale to tens of thousands of claims.
Our Solution
Delivered a secure, cloud-native data platform on Azure using Infrastructure-as-Code for rapid repeatability. Implemented master data catalogue, role-based access controls and a Zero Trust blueprint aligned to Cabinet Office cyber policies. Stood up Power BI and Python analytics layers for near real-time dashboards covering claim status, payment forecasts and equality impacts. Mobilised an SC cleared squad in nine days, co-delivering with CGI under a flexible SoW model.
The Outcome
100% of case data unified, eliminating spreadsheet sprawl. High reduction in manual reconciliation effort for case officers. Platform certified as AI-ready, paving the way for automated document triage in Phase 2.
